Yep, all new nylocks and washer all round

Looks great Rick. Do you already have your wheel for degreeing the cams? I'm pretty sure one of the boxes I gave you contained a gauge holder block for measuring the cam lift so all you should need is the wheel and the gauge you used to measure your rod bolt stretch.

Yep, I found the dial gauge holder & thanks!

I've got a degreeing wheel and a few more dial gauges to choose from so I should be able to zero those super cup cams in soon

In the meantime, I finished up rebuilding the struts. New HD inserts & all newtie rod ends and ball joints

If anybody ever needs something to plug up those pesky little air holes on the exh side of the heads I have the perfect solution. A very wise ole race car builder turned me on to...Thanks! them

Pelican sells those in a kit with copper sealing washers. Some people have had them unscrew and blow out while driving. I put them in my car as tight as I dare with the threads coated with red loctite and they havn't come loose in 4 years.

Usually I only put a dab of red loctite on a corner of some bolt threads so they can still be removed without too much hassle but I used more on those hoping they stay put.

Good advise! I have copper washers in one of the 930 gaskits that I was also advised to use and now I'll also plan on some red locktite...Thanks,RC

I made a thread chaser today using an old used m10x1.5 head stud and paired with a snap-on collet it worked great.




I ended up with a couple of head bolts that were loose in the case so I added some green sleeve. Hope that does the job cuz timeserts wont be as easy

Cleaned out all of the old gas today. I was glad to see there was plenty in there cuz it kept the tank from rusting. Replaced the tank filter screen and it needed it after 24 years

So how many gallons did I appear to have left in there Rick? If it was my typical amount I would guess somewhere between 5 and 10 gallons.

I would ocasionally add a can of marvels to a tank to keep the pumps and CIS components supplied with some detergent/lube so hopefully that helped to prevent corrosion and gunk build up in the fuel system.

There was approximately 6 gallons in there and it was high octane smeely stuff that I gave to a friend for his burn pile starter

Changed out the fuel line between the pump and tank cuz it was loose and had hardened, but overall the fuel system looks good to go...Thanks

As for the beer, I have a good friend that I've been riding road bikes with for the last 15 years who's a Miller distributor in Tampa, FL. Whenever my kegerator runs dry he sends me a list of about 100 craft beers that they have in stock at that time and I just pick one and he brings it to my house. We then proceed to tap it and taste test it
