[QUOTE=RBNetEngr;11716663]Hamilton had quite a difficult time climbing out of the car at the end of the race, and he was walking very stiffly, with his back causing problems.

So the FIA intervened "in the name of safety", there's a new technical directive...
If I read these articles right, they're gonna measure the bouncing and if it's too severe (over a set limit), force the teams to increase ride height (and therefore lose performance). So in a way it's not a bad thing, teams who did the job right will not lose their advantage (and be able to ride lower and have more downforce)... Those who porpoised or bottomed out too much will likely get a ride height penalty and a degradation in performance... Probably not what Mercedes had in mind when they started this campaign...

It's pouring buckets of rain in Canada right now!

Heard Christian Horner discuss this in FP1 or 2 today. Basically his position is this is garbage and will adversely impact the teams that have gotten it right and are not experiencing the issue. His version was different than yours. It sounds like an across the board mandate, so if one team is suffering then all will have to do the same thing to 'fix'.

I found myself agreeing with him.

Horner sure likes to whine but it makes no sense here… if you bounce too much the FIA will make you raise the ride height. So since Redbull seems ok they’ll likely be left alone. Mercedes may be forced to raise the car and lose even more downforce. Seemed to me Mercedes shot themselves in the foot or the ruling didn’t play into their hands anyway… maybe I got it wrong.

Either way this w/e is just for data gathering - so no action will be taken.

I am happy for Haas and specifically Mick . Hopefully both cars can get points tomorrow . Felt bad for Norris but decent run for Danny Ric . Albon showing some speed . Tomorrow could be a great show.

At the start Alonso will use the first corner over run to keep second.

If Alonso can pull off an amazing launch off the grid the first turn could be critical . Max has much more to lose than Alonso . Think big picture . But if Max gets the lead see ya later bye 😁

Doesn't Alonzo get tired of everyone referring to him as "old"? The interviewer after qually said something twice about his age.

Looks like the forecast is a dry race . That in itself changes the race setups . They didn't get any dry running so what tire do you start the race with ? Looking forward to watching this one .

They did run in the dry in Practice.
Half second delta from medium to soft.
I say Alonso on soft and Max on Medium.
Sainz and Perez on soft.

I am afraid Max is going to run away with it. Alonso's car was probably setup to maximize qualifying performance in the wet, so I wouldn't be surprised to see him and Haas fall back pretty quickly. I hope that's not the case. Maybe someone will punt Max at at the start and drop him to the back to last. That would make for a really interesting race.

Neil, their setup for practice had to be basically the same as for the race.

Once again George finishes within the top 5.

Leclerc's moves on the two Alpines were masterful.

Last ten laps were riveting.

I was on vacation staying in hotels for two weekends. My DVR at home recorded all the action. I got back, and had to skip the practices and qualifying, but I watched the two races. I did catch the comment Hamilton made, his car was undrivable and the worst car he has ever driven around the track. Yet he came in third. I guess he is just too used to the very best and way better than all others car on track. It is nice to see him struggle in a very average car.

Amazing to see Alonzo, and the Haas cars up in the front. Haas did the usual fail in the race. No I need to watch the Le Mans race, and get caught up on several work project, and all the other post vacation stuff.

Glen, Mercedes was chasing different set ups with Lewis's and George's cars on Friday. For qualifying and the race they went with their "Best guess" with George running more wing than Lewis.
I suspect if Sergio's car hadn't broken ( likely due to his off in Q2) there would have been no podium for Lewis.
