Me too, been working on my old LJ all afternoon, they are great little trucks. And I like the Town and Country wagon, that is really very cool. Citroens are full of character so are allowed to be a bit 'aesthetically challenging'.

You can't pick on the ones that weren't supposed to be pretty. It's much more fun to poke fun at the ones that were an honest-to-god attempt at styling.

Just my 2 Cents.

Richard Hammond from Top Gear thinks that the Citroen DS is the most beautiful car ever built.

Then again I have friends who think the Lambo Miura is ugly.

Ugg, I can't believe anybody finds those trans ams and camaros from the 70s and 80s attractive in any way! IMO, they represent probably the lowest point of American design! Ok, wait, I take that back - most domestics from the 80s and 90s were completely uninspired. But at least they weren't ugly. Those trans ams are just plain fugly!

I know I'll get flamed for my vote for ugliest, because lots of people think these are beautiful, but here's my vote:

Another Chrysler owie. I think it later became the platform for the Barracuda.

Richard is right. And also among the most elegantly engineered cars ever built as well, IMO.

If you want pure ugly on a timeless scale, I think you need to put the Daimler SP250 Dart somewhere near the top of list.

Heh, the Element seems to be debated a lot - I actually quite like them. My wife hates them.

I gotta agree with red beard... the element is a nice box and all, but where's the car that comes inside the box?

trans ams and camaros of the 70s at least are fantastic looking machines!!!
to european eyes they are exotica, and having these huge 6,6litre engines under the hood they sound amazing too! they have a purposeful essence to the design, and sceam out loud. the firebird posted earlier in the thread has a real angry face to it, it looks mean and purposeful new alfas echo that look today. its super cool! when they went bland in the 80s they lost their oommpph.
just my 2 cents

Ugliest. . . AND stupidest. Leave it to GM to plumb the depths of two categories at the same time.

I agree with Leland that the real ugly ones are too easy to pick. I like the FJ so that one is ok...I think the BMW Z3 was one of them that just looks wrong. The Z4 is much better!

Careful. If you start naming the current/recent crop of BMWs, you're liable to wind up with the entire production line-up listed on this thread in short order.
