Tell me about it. We are subject to a "clean desk policy" at our new office space. Since we deal exclusively with confidential info here at the bank our new policy is everything gets put away and locked up overnight. We cannot even lock our office doors - must be open for surprise secutity audits. If nothing else, if forces you to stay organized and work efficiently - not bad things!

I started a new gig yesterday. I'm on the 9th floor in downtown Houston and pretty much in the corner (about 10' from the windows with no walls between me and the sun). I like being able to see out.

I don't have an office, unless you count the coffee shop where I go every am to open the laptop and answer emails, etc... Most of my Pelican posting occurs there, as well as researching anything that I need for the day. Here was the view today:

So I am working on the 4th of July, but I can't imagine a much better view than this for my office window. The photo really doesn't do it justice. The wind is ripping through the course grass and whistling around the building. The jagged peaks in the background are dusted with snow. The sky immediately overhead is decidedly grey and overcast. Off in the distance I can see a bank of fluffy white cloud shining brilliantly in the sunlight, the taller summits breaking through defiantly. Honestly this is breathtaking and will be my view for the next couple of weeks.



Happy 4th of July indeed.

I had a doctors appointment at a new doc and on his rather messy desk was a sign...
