Hi there friends,
Porsche brand is very far away from me however I bot a 1968 911S coupe. It has 3,2 liter 1986 engine on it. Its chassis number is 118302XX where engine number is 3280374. Does this engine number belong to its original 2,0 liter or the new one on it? Thanks for your help Hakan |
1968 Range:
911 Coupe (US): Chassis: 11830001-11830473 Engine: 3280001-3281606 (901/14) 473 Produced, so the chassis number & engine number you supply match. A 3.2 engine numBer start with 62, 63, 64, 67 or 68, flowed by E, F, G, H, J or K |

Sure it isn't a 930/03
The serial number is for a '78 According to this site. http://www.adelgigs.com/911scproductiondata.shtml Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Hi all,
I am researching a pretty interesting case of a potential acquisition. It is a 1966 Karmann 911 with a 2.4 engine. After a deep research, we have found what seems to be the original block and the rest of the engine parts. The serial number does not match anything I have read: 5080016. The engine type number is not there (I still haven't seen it live, but the person who has it cannot find it). The other number that is clear is the block part number 901.101.101.3R Can anyone give me a clue? Thanks! |
Hello,
I see soem people can say if an engine is matching? 2 questions, where do you get this information? Online? And can somebody tell me if I have the right engine: It is a 1971 911E Targa Vin: 9111210839 Engine: 6218232 Thanks!! |

In you case, the vehicle VIN, 9111210839 matches the description of a 1971 911E Targa, number 839 produced. The engine number, 6218232 matches to a 1971 E engine for a sportomatic (the 8 indicates a sportomatic engine), number 232 produced. If your car is a sportomatic, then the engine and chassis are within the matching range. If your car is not a sportomatic and has not been converted, then the engine is not matching to your vehicle. Here is an online site that can help: Fahrzeug-Identifizierung |
hello, can you decode an engine number? 67D0510. Thanks, this is my first time on tis great site. Not sure about the D. It is a turbo. 85 maybe?

Your VIN should be in the range of: WPOZZZ93ZDS000001-1015 for a RoW; or WPOJAO93CDS050001-0065 for a Canadian Model How about a pic or two of the car. |
could you help me with engine # 67D0510. Thank you. Not sure about the D. 7 is for turbo I think? 6 for # of the cylinders. Thanks very much
|
thank you very much. It is a Canadian 84 Carrera, made into a turbo, with all the proper parts. I did not know what year the engine was, and now I do. Thanks! Conversion was done back in 85. I just bought it from my neighbour. I will get a photo posted. It is quite a sleeper. Black on black, with no turbo badge, but the whale tail. Pelican Parts does not seem to list 83 as having a turbo? Maybe only in Canada? Thanks again. The D means in the #

You cannot select a Turbo Model on Pelican but as you go through the parts for the 83 years model where there is a difference between 911 and the 930 Turbo there will be different part numbers, guess which one is more expensive. There was 65 delivered 930 Turbo in Canada in 1983. Post or PM me your VIN number from the Door Jam sticker. |
WPOABO918ES121817. I need the oil line from the crossover to the thermostat. 930 107 743 15 is too short. -10 is too long. I wonder about 911 107 743 12? I ordered the -15, to a US address. I borrowed a -10. I guess I can try the 3rd choice. The local Aeroquip people can't find the 30mm by 1.5 threads to make me one. Pelican Parts is not able to help. Having a non matching engine and car might be causing this issue I suppose? Must go out for a bit now. Thanks very much

how do I get back to this conversation in the future? Still new to this site. Thanks again

If the conversion was done in 85, we are talking about an 84 car with an 83 engine. Sound like some Canuck wrote off the 930 within a couple of years. Yes, conversion always have its chalenge when looking for part. Bonne Chance. |
