It's a '74, color is non stock - if memory serves it's a Camry color from the mid -90's. I kind of like it as is too... I'd rather put the $ into the engine...

I agree, if you have Chrome Trim, then the silver bar is a great look.

Just my 2 cents worth...

Who wouldn't pick a 911 over a 240?

Some can't decide. That's why I have both, so the choice is a fun one no matter what!
Here's my 88 Targa in the backdrop:

I am doing this now on my '74. Not bright chrome, but a very fine brush like a satin finish with clear coat over that. I don't have any pics yet but it looks good with the mid year trim. Probably would with early also.

I am not a fan of painted targa bars in any case...

Here's mine as of yesterday. Major changes happening.

I have read and seen some info on stiffening the body. Someone had welded two steel bars under the car but can't remember who but would like to find that post again. Anyone have any info on that would be appreciated.

I have the brace under the hood as well two in the back seat (the ones that bolt on to the seat belt mounts).

Why the emphasis on stiffness? I doubt anyone on this site Is hindered awfully much by a Targa.

Hey Ed...

I'm kinda concerned only because of the increase in power.

This is at least the second, maybe third post on my targa. It keeps evolving. First pics of the exterior and interior - nothing changed there this year.

The real change came in the engine bay. Previous engine was a 2.7 with RS P&Cs, S cams, ported heads, 40mm webers. A very strong engine.....but not strong enough. So, I contracted with Henry Schmidt of Supertec performance to build me something special, something wild. You can read the thread over in the "911 engine rebuilding forum" for more details:

The best engine Porsche never built

2.8SS MFI twin plug

It's in and running - I just need to get some break in miles on it.

Feeling sorry for all those coupe owners!

Out and about in my Targa the last few days - finally feels like spring in NYC.

Boy does that engine sound great as it barrels into the cabin from 4k to 6k on the tach.

Yum.

Can't Help it.

Hi All -

Finally took some pics of her in a state that's worth posting. It's a 72 911T with S trim, 2.4 crank, case and rods with an S cam, 2.2S pistons and modified headers on 40mm Webers and a Dansk sport 2-in-2-out exhaust.
