Upgraded my steering wheel. I love the look of the 930S wheel

Took a photo of it and drove to the post office where someone yelled at me for driving too fast.

In the middle of my bumper tuck/bumperette re-section/center exhaust/rear reflector project, decided to put enough parts back together to take it for the first drive of the new year. Note rare RSR rear plate mount.

Cool and clear here in Seattle (rare this time of year). The engine seeed especially responsive and appreciative of the exercise, and even the transmission decided to shift more sweetly than usual.

Terry,
Nice to be able to get the car out. That rare plate mount should up the value. Weather is crisp down here too. Finishing up the brakes/suspension and hope to get mine out on the road tomorrow.

For better continuity, I would recommend painting the visible white areas under your grill semi-gloss black.

so i'll defer to you for actual knowledge. (i would think that light wheels would be ideal for rally like they are for tarmac. less unsprung weight makes the suspension work better and all that.) maybe i just need to head up to MI one weekend and watch the festivities.

what i do know for sure is that they look fantastic.
Thanks. I think I agree.

Yes, lighter is always better but only as light as you can get away with. These are NOT designed for stage rally but I know of at least one big Volvo running these in Scandinavia, even though the factory cringes whenever you mention it LOL. BRAIDs are well designed and well built wheels and the factory are quite conservative so sometimes we can get away with things we are not supposed to. Plus, I drive like an old grandma anyway.

They go on top of BBS or similar wheels. old tech for cooling brakes. i like the way they look, but not enough to pay for them.

Got the windshield installed today- inching closer to getting it on the road. Waiting for the light assembly restoration to get finished (almost done), then the bumpers can go on...

Took a rock to the windshield, tossed up by the Landcrusher in front of me. There goes $800 down the drain.

Installed my Dansk 70 mm sport muffler. Was an easy job to get the old muffler off by just cutting the old bolts and the two straps. The Dansk is a nice fit. The two new straps I purchased, not so much. The bolts are too short. Even pre bending the new straps to get maximum length around the muffler, I could not get the two ends close enough together. After wasting a lot of time I finally got the bolt on the larger strap to engage, but on the shorter strap, no way. I finally did the smart thing and got a longer bolt (M10x1.5). Then it went in with no problem.

I like the new sound. Not too loud in the lower and middle RPM range, but nice sound at WOT. I also think the car pulls a little better in the mid RPM range, but I need to drive it some more to really be able to tell. Since it was cold when I did the test drive, I had to run the heat. When standing still, the smell of the new exhaust getting hot for the first time was pretty bad. Need to drive it a couple more times to get it nice and hot.

I’ll let the pics talk...still need to adjust the drivers side spacer by 1mm as I’m rubbing ever so slightly, then get an aligned.
