Time to get the 930 floating brake discs assembled!

The brakes looked like this when I bought them:





I disassembled them and had them straightend up:





The hats and rings were cleaned up, wire brushed and send to get black-chromed.

Hats freshly pushed into the discs and all new assembly gear:





Now to the wonderful job of getting the parts together:





All done:

My car is now at "Porsche Centrum Køge" - a well known Porsche shop in Denmark. They installed the headliner and the windows and while doing other work on the car, they let me work on the car while in the shop:







The great guys there had a laugh when I was laying flat inside the car installing the pedal box and took a picture:




Powder coated roll cage installed:





The owner, Kim, talked me into installing a new sound deafning in the eninge compartment. That was a "wonderful" job, and I had to take of the air cleaners, but the final result was nice...





The part I took out was from 1972 and increadably heayy! The new part weighs nothing...

I also restored my one year special oil tank. That took a lot of hard work!

Very cool. I installed my pedal box the same way. Removed the steering wheel and driver's seat. Made the entire process way easier.

Make sure that screw is not too tight. The thermostat rod on mine ended up breaking and necessitating a total rebuild of the pump when the rod got into the cam and lifter area and seized up #3 and #6.

Well, there is a correct length for the warmed-up position. You just don't want to go past that. I am not sure what the tolerance is.

Hey Max. Thanks again for the advise. It actually showed out, that I had not tighten it enough! I took of the side cover to see what was happening - and manually tested the play with a thin allen wrench. Here are some "open heart" pictures to show the open (chocker) position and the closed (non-chocker position)

Open:


Closed - the rod easy pressed in by hand with the allen wrench


I then put in a longer allen screw and carefully measured and observed when it reached the closed position.
