Beautiful looking work. If only the rear PFC was used, to replace the ancient original, would there be an improvement? No looking to make ice.
Thanks,
Tony

Maybe. It depends on how well you're doing right now. Someone you can talk to about the upsides and downsides to this particular mod is Charlie Griffiths@ GTI. He has mentioned here before about what you get and what you give up with these condensers. Before you spend any money, be really careful in your research. Think about after-sale support, too. With these cars, that's critical for DIY AC work.

Not to mention that Kellogs has said reapeatedly, when he's being called to the carpet about his grandiose claims, that his gear is not for sale to DIY types; aka: he posts these threads about his "inventions" in order to pound his chest, and to demean other, proven a/c component options, and nothing more.

Tony I know how hot San Jose gets
you need at least both a front and rear PFC or you would be spinning your wheels and never be anywhere near happy !!!

you can buy a rear china generic PFC that might get you by that has old PFC technology then i use from Parallel Flow Condensers - Non Painted | ACKITS.com in Arizona and adapt it fit, this is the same sold by my competitors for a much higher price

Heck, a YEAR IN and his magic DIY prototype guinea pig still doesn't have a running system...he is however "close to finishing"...

I'm very impressed with the results of a system that a year in doesn't even work yet.

I will say that other than the slight curve, his rear condenser looks 100% exactly the same as the generic ones you can find from any number of sources, right down to the mounting points with the holes drilled every inch all the way around.

Why would you put that stuff on a system designed specifically for a 911, which doesn't use such mounting locations? Why do I think that your curved condenser is just a normal one that was bent a bit? Why does your system not even have mounting lugs that one would need anyways?

BELIEVE what you want

They Are Not Cheap and I have not made them for-sale here!

YOU CAN'T JUDGE A BOOK BY LOOKING AT THE COVER

YOU ARE BLIND TO SAY OR THINK
"looks 100% exactly the same as the generic ones you can find from any number of sources"

get some glasses their custom made for early model 911s!

THESE MATCHED SET PFC's are specifically designed for an 86 Carrera Cabriolet DIY including my new invention reversing the A/C GASES I discovered and proved to several Porsche shop Professionals and their clients

My State of the Art PFC's have proven repeatedly to enable early model 911's A/C systems properly prepared to get vent temps in the 30s @ 92-95 degrees ambient professionally installed reversing the gases

Lets see what a west coast DIY 1986 Carrera Cabriolet owner can do with them using my invention reversing the gases.

(this is one of my pfc extended driving & testing @ 95 degrees ambient pictures NOT THE DIY's)

Nope, they look 100% like the generic pieces that I can buy right now, except that yours is slightly bent for the decklid. WHY would you make a 100% custom condenser, built for one purpose and one purpose only (that is to be mounted in a very specific decklid position, and no where else) and then have them have (a) no mounting arms to put it in that place, and (b) do install silly generic mounting flanges like everyone else?

Basically, all that you did was find a manufacturer who builds these things day in and day out for everyone, and got them to bend one a bit. That's it. In fact, I found the EXACT same thing that someone mounted HERE, about 8 years ago. So, someone else must have beat you to that patent, huh? Is that why it's still "patent pending" after all these years, and not for sale? Did you find that someone actually beat you, and that you CANNOT sell this piece?

Porsche Crest THIS is why the update !

The 86 cabriolet Owner and DIY member here who received my PFCs was involved in a motorcycle accident with serious injuries and why his A/C conversion and many repair items has taken this long.

He tells me he is very close now to charging his highly modified A/C system so we start not only the fine tuning the gases & testing as well as new A/C computer control

THIS is why the update !

From time to time I question myself - I look inward and see that I lack humility at times. Sometimes, in retrospect, I think "damn, dave, you've got sanity issues."

Today - not so much.

Just wasted 10 minutes on ten pages.

Ten minutes of your life, wasted. Unless you were amused by any of it. Comedy is always worth the time. For aircooled AC stuff, call Griffiths Tech, Inc. Charlie will find a solution for your needs. And after the sale, he will help get your system running. And he offers free-of-charge expert advice in this forum. Even for people who haven't purchased anything from him. If you use that as a basis for comparison against any of the other folks who are trying to get you aircooled AC money, I think the choice almost makes itself.

I am offended that anyone would suggest such a thing. That's a very rude allegation that you only have the courage to make behind the safety of your keyboard. Maybe if you spent less time being pointlessly rude on the internet, you might be able to develop a product that you could sell. Considering your demeanor here, I can't imagine why anyone would buy anything from you.

Dear Mr Kelog:

I drive an early 911 Targa and live in Southern California; I have no need for AC. I removed the dealer added remnants of a system when I bought the car . I have no dog in this fight - I only drive the car in pleasant weather - which is a majority of the time around here.

All by yourself you set an angry tone at the beginning of this thread. While there have been some trolls, there have also been some kind hearted members who have made, in my opinion, very good suggestions to you regarding tone and humility - perhaps they're hopeful you've produced an improvement for their cars and WANT you to succeed, but are concerned you're too much of an engineer to express yourself well. It's also possible you've too much hubris - regardless, you might want to consider turning it down a notch.

Sincerely,

Just Another Bozo On The Bus
