Yep, same with my Elky. There is no replacement for it except a different Elky.

That's why I didn't sell the 928 GTS for $70K. Nothing I wanted to replace it for that amount.

It would be a long time before I could afford to replace ours, but I didn't really want to. I would go with a newer 911 should we get another. The FI module was worth more than we paid for that car.

Ah well. I still have the little 2 seat land rocket. Parts are still cheap for that. Relatively speaking.

If I sold mine it would make a nice down payment on a Macan, but it wouldn't be the same.

some rather interesting takes on the "my first parade" thread. I think I would have had more fun with one of the boys, by myself or with Glen but I did enjoy the time I spent and the sights I saw. Now that I know I can fly in and rent a car I might just do that.

how do you think you get turbo boost out of it? Speaking of smart cars or not. I forgot the most amazingly stupid thing happened on the way to Spokane. While doing 80, yes slightly above posted limit I got passed by a Toyota Prius. I was wondering how long it took him to get up to that speed.

Wheeeeeee, the fun continues for me.

My mother in law spent the last several days in the hospital because she is having "episodes" where she essentially passes out but does not quite go unconscious. They did tons of tests, and can find no medical reason for it but a review of her medications by the doctor showed up Ambien.

Read the several PAGES of possible side effects if you want a shock. She had all of them at once I think. Anyway now she is off the Ambien and getting better but a LONG ways from back to normal. So guess what!

We ran up to fetch her. That was a production and took all friking day. She is going to stay with us for several days until she gets back to a normal state of mind. She is normally a pleasant enough octogenarian but a bit grumpy right now. Especially towards her daughter, my wife. That causes some slight irritation on my wife's part. In other words, my wife is not happy. There is a phrase that any married man has heard and understood. Happy Wife Happy Life. Not much joy right now.

I needed to run to the bank to make a deposit in the night depository for the new company. Not enough to match the recent orgy of spending, but a deposit non the less. The bank is 3 blocks away. I told my wife I should be back in a couple of hours. She pretty much burned a hole in my forehead with her glare.

I am predicting I will come up with some projects for my old cars this weekend. I must be a genius to own two 30+ year old cars in need of some project at all times. The Elky is going to get a full wax and detail. I have not yet figured out what to do to the 911 but there will be something I can guarantee. The best part is besides my great modesty and humble attitude I am a genius as already mentioned. I have an air conditioned garage. The best upgrade to the garage besides the lift.

Speaking of Toyota Priuses, or is it Prii? Anyway, a few weeks ago my wife and I were out for a drive in the 964 and we spotted a millennial couple at a gas station, pushing their Prius up to pumps. I guess they need to hypermile it a bit less, going forward.

Thanks, but I do have the dealer event tomorrow morning called Motors in the Morning. I can get there early and leave late. Then get to playing in the garage. The combined age of my two cars is 63. The combined mileage is well over 500,000 miles. I can always find some project to do on one or the other.

Went to the dealer's car show this morning. I won a polo shirt for people's choice. Even had on couple taking photos of each other next to my car.

I decided not to buy the new turbo on the showroom floor even if it was white.

Wow.

Will have to pass. For that price there just doesn't look like there are enough amenities to live in

Stijn!!

Yea, that is crazy money. The key was painted to match of course.

My garage project of the day was to "fix" my gas grill. The electric igniter died and no more sparks. I feel sure that is the first part to be put on and they build the grill around it. Idiotic engineering at the pinnacle. Instead of taking the entire grill apart and fighting the process I cut a small slot at the bottom of the facia and using LONG needle nose pliers I got the wires disconnected and labeled. I had purchased a replacement igniter on Amazon for 9 bucks. They were 29 bucks at the site for the manufacturer. Getting the part in place is not bad with my access slot, but hooking up the wires is going to need a proctologist and his remote manipulators. Ain't no way. So I did a rather inelegant solution. It works fine but a strip of aluminum screwed in with self tapping screws hold it tightly in place. It works perfect and that is the important part.
It would fit in on the "There I fixed it" site but I ain't taking photos of it.

Need to put my gas grill on Craigslist and see if there are any takers.

Haven't used it since I got the Charbroil Smoker/Roaster/Grill/
And the SRG uses less than half as much gas.

Okay, took pitchers and listed it on Craigslist for $100. Let's see...which will happen first, a scammer will contact me or someone wanting a gas grill?

In the middle of the project I took a photo. You can see the igniter is out by the big black hole in the next to the knob on the left. The AC was working hard and it was sorta cool in the garage. My wife took her mom to breakfast she her car was hot and I come home not too long before this in my hot 911. So two hot Porsches and high 90s outside made the AC unit struggle. It was BRUTAL hot outside so I can't complain about the performance of the AC unit.

The grill in back on the back porch read to grill some meat.

The white car behind the grill is much more practical.
