At the optometrist while waiting I was looking at the displays and they have one of a young couple with a couple that are both very good looking. In the photo the couple both have big smiles are are obviously really happy with the large oversize sunglasses that go over regular glasses. Yea, lots of 30 something couples movie star good looks wear the glasses that grandmas wears. Sure.

They do have a function, but they are far from stylish of something 30+ model types would wear unless they are getting paid to model them.

Had good weather over the weekend. Helped my niece with breaking little round clay saucers with a 12g. She had fun but liked the .45-70 the best. Sis, BiL, mom, dad, our kids, the niece and nephew all had a grand time. Much money was spent!

One of my friends wanted to be an Air Force pilot. He went in for an evaluation and they did the vision test. They just asked what is the smallest line you can read. He replied, Copyright 1962 Eye-chart company of Ohio. The examiner walked ovr the chart and said wow, you are the first to see that.
Unfortunately my buddy had a slight red-green deficiency and they washed him out.

They didn't say how far way she could see a plane or read an eye chart, only that she could recognize a persons face a mile away and that her vision was 5000/20.
My vision has been 20/25 since HS so have always been a little near sighted. But not too bad. Since my retinopathy have lost some close stuff. Can't read really small print no more. The good thing is anything over 780 is a waste of resolution for me. My TV and AppleTV renders everything at 1020 and it all looks the same to me. Only noticeable when something's original resolution is S Video.

Dang mean old boss is making me mow and edge his yard again today. The dumb thing is I get to put down a heavy dose of fertilizer. The light application a few weeks ago woke up the front yard some, but the bosses wife want a GREEN yard.
![]() So this is from just last week. Gotta be greener? I will be mowing twice per week after this.

Yup, right there in front!
We don't need no stinking fertilizer and still should mow twice a week.

No, it is a swan. We have had it for years. It is concrete and weighs a LOT. The last time I moved it for the wife, I told her to be sure that is where she wants it, cause I ain't moving it again.
I am finally back inside. I went out at 9:30 and edged, ran the string trimmer, mowed, then fertilized, and finally bran the leaf blower to get the fertilizer off of the sidewalk and the seams in the sidewalk. The fertilizer had iron in it, and all the iron parts will leave rust stains on any concrete. And the concrete does not need any fertilizer anyway so it is better to blow it into the yard. I was done at 12:30. Phew. It was 94 degrees with a heat index of 101 when I came inside. The shower sure felt good. And the beer was really good.

It appears the power brakes on the Elky are failing. The master cylinder and brake booster are the ones the factory installed. The POS is failing after only 34 years and 365,000 miles. I will have to do some research on which are the best brands, and how to even do the swap. I have the factory workshop manual so it will have the how to in there. As cheap as GM Goodwrench parts are, I may just try yo find those and avoid at all costs Chineesium crap.

That's what you get for buying an American brand! A brand from the UK would have had you replace those often enough the bolts won't be frozen.

There is no rust on the master cylinder. I expect it to come apart OK. The tough part is the bolts for the booster go through the firewall, and the bolts are evidently behind the instrument panel. I have no idea how in the heck I am supposed to get to them.
In just looking at the drawings in the manual there is a rubber gasket, that likely needs to be replaced after all this time. There is a vacuum filter and some other parts I need to get. Golly it will be fun.

The skunk trapper came back today after we told him the trap was sprung. For some reason we did not want to check real close. He showed up and used a grabber like snake guys use to grab a snake to capture one of the kits. He is pretty sure moma is in the trap this time, so He dropped the kit in a 5 gallon bucket, put down the grabber, opened the bucket and picked up the kit by the tail, and dropped the kit in the trap with mom. I observed from 20 feet away upwind. No sprays. He loaded the to in the trap into his truck trap and all. We then looked up into the hole with my endoscope and did not see anymore kits, but he set two traps to see if we get anything more. If after a few days no more skunks, we fill the hole with concrete.
I guess two live skunks are a pretty good theft deterrent for his truck.

The problem is that the thief may only figure that out after they've broken into and stolen the vehicle.

His truck is a commercial pickup with the Skunk Man lettered on the side, and his phone number. The camper shell in back is full of his traps and equipment. The truck is one I don't want parked in my garage for sure. It had a slight aroma of skunk, as he has been sprayed, and had to drive home. And more than one has sprayed in the camper area. He also traps any wild critter. Lots of racoon and possums, and some snakes.
I saw a show on TV where some guy was skunk expert and studied them. He said a very small part of the population (like him) don't smell a skunk. He has been sprayed and did not know it until he went to a public place and saw everyone had a bad expression on their face and holding their noses. He knew to go home and take a shower. It never bothered him.

The Stick

My skunk story. Besides the dog.
Had a guy that planted a weed roach in the ashtray of the van I used for mowing yards. Went to a park to have lunch in the shade. He called the cops and told them I was dealing drugs at that park. They found the roach and I spend the night in jail. The police hit my van, while it was legally parked at the park, then questioned my ability to drive to seach the van. Found the roach and hauled me off. Discovered he wanted to date one of the girls I was just friends with. A little later came across a road kill skunk, it was smelly. Late that night, bagged it up[, opened his trunk with a screw driver, dropped the skunk in sans trash bag. Guessing it smelled up the whole car, jammed the trunk lock so could only be opened with screwdriver. It was a nice Cuda. He still kept trying to hassle me. My Mom's car got broken into and I found roaches in the bottom of the ashtray. My Mom doesn't smoke anythingl Mentioned my situation to some guys while out drinking and carousing. Unbeknownst to me a few days later they found the Cuda in his parents driveway and it smelled of skunk. One of the guys parents lived near there and recognized the car. There was a bulldozer parked a block away where comstuction was going on. Somehow the dozer started, went down the street on it's own, hit and rolled the car sideways, door, roof, door, wheels, through a couple of yards then down the street and stopped pushed up against a tree. Didn't know anything about it until he tried to accuse me of it. Didn't know where he or his parents lived. Put the skunk in the trunk while it was parked at the girl's house.
