I had to replace the compressor in the Durango a few years ago. Cheap thing started leaking at 175k miles. The daughter still prefers the A/C in that compared to the Rogue.

I never had to deal with it in the Cobra. The belt turns an alternator and water pump.

Morning all. well that was a shock the former boss who was let go at work has the crud. So far its just like a really bad cold. His girlfriend tested positive yesterday. Not sure how they were about their social distancing thing but it looks like you can't let your guard down for a second.

That whole being contagious without symptoms for so long really helps keep it spreading.

I called a local AC shop about getting a new R4 compressor. The compressor was used on millions of vehicles, it is noisy but it is American AC systems and it works. I get about 100K miles out of one. The current one has been on there for 9 years just doing it's job.

The local AC shop just quit selling the R4, and they sell a Sanden conversion. Lots of new hoses and everything is just under $600.

I can get a new R4 for 215 bucks. Likely less if I did around.

Wow, Alaska in April will be REAL cold. We were there in July. On the 4th of July we were in Ketchikan, on the 4th of July and the high was 55 degrees. It was 110 back home at the same time.

We have the Alone in the Wilderness videos and in the middle of winter he said it was a cozy 40* INSIDE the cabin.

I am earning a little bit of the money back that I have spent at the Porsche dealership. We are flying the ranch of the the owner. Really nice place right on a river. The river runs through it in fact. Lots of horses and cattle.

Unfortunately for us, it is not a very expensive project. Just an orthophoto of the property. It is a 6 GB tiff file, so a BIG file.

The koi pond pump wasn't a pump this morning. It was just a dead electronic object that would instantly pop the ground fault on the circuit. The good news is I am very smart, and good looking and modest, and sometimes deluded. However I had purchased a replacement pump and had it on hand. The old one was making noise, so I knew it was not long for this world. I am just super duper happy it did not die in the middle of the -6 degree crap we had a few weeks ago. It is 74 and sunny, so I broke a sweat replacing it.

The bad news is that pump is no longer made. So next time, I will have to do some adapting to make it fit the space I have in the filter box. It is just a submersible, 3,500 GPH pump for waterfalls.

No, they are submersible, so the entire pump lives underwater for it's entire life. I presume they glue it or plastic weld it together. I looked at taking on apart in the past, and there is simply no access.

The one that died is one we bought over a year ago, and right off the bat it was noisy and made a real whine. I bought it from WW Granger, and I call and discussed the noisy pump and offered to bring it back. They just sent a new one for no cost, and said trash the other one. It lasted longer than I expected, and for free it was a bargain.

Yea, but it might leak a bit internally then.
