Get off my lawn!

This is funny. One of my wife's good friends is married to a professional welder. On occasions he finds scrap and just has to whip up a piece of art. So we have "sprocket" on the back porch. A mud dauber found one of the eyes, and made it look better! We are now waiting for Mrs mud dauber to get to the other eye.

The local welder/artist around here does dinosaurs and leaves them in the pasture.

OK, for you rocket geeks. Kerbal Space Program. Got it to use with the kids. I am sure some of you have played/seen it.
Was up until 2:30am the other night designing a couple rockets. One, a moonshot rocket and the other a shuttle type. Jacob built one also that is suborbital. He did not do any tutorials yet. Had one of his Kerbal guys do an eva but did not realize quite how orbital mechanics works and let him let go of the capsule. Oops.

Some place I have a computer game that simulates the old moon shots. All button pushing at the right time in the right order or you die. I have made it thru launch but always fail reentry.

My first (and only so far) shot to the moon I had too little fuel. I made it to the moon. Smack dab in the middle of it since I had no fuel to adjust the capsule to enter orbit.
I like building the stuff mostly. I should build an N1 replica and see if it blows up like the real one!

When I was a kid we had Estes and a hobby shop one mile from home that was full of nothing but all kinds of model rocket stuff.
At 8 years old was mowing neighbots yards and had lots of money for an eigth year old to by rocketry stuff. Coolest was one that carried a glider up that looked kinda like the space shuttle (before they had a space shuttle). You had to run a delayed chute engine so it could arc over launching the glider before popping the chute. The only problem is you had to track both the rocket and the glider down. Had a pirated AppleII program that was a really cool robot chem lab. You could mix and heat anything. If you mixed stuff that would explode, it would. Great fun playing will it fizzle, foam, catch fire, or explode.

I have not played a game on my computer in over 20 years. I guess I am an old grumpy guy.
I received my SunPass statement today. While in Florida I racked up $34.78 in tolls. That is the discount rate for using the pass. I have no idea how much more it would have cost to pay cash. It sure would have taken a lot longer to get through the toll gates. Glad I had the pass. Now I wonder how long it will take to cancel the pass and get a refund for the remaining funds. I bet it is over 30 days.

Glen, you will receive the funds back on Tuesday. Not sure which year. Kerbal is cheaper!

I played with a few rockets, but we often lived on base, and the base had strict rules bout rockets.
We made our own rockets with old CO2 cartridges. A few match heads, and a metal pipe it would launch 100 yards down a field. Just don't pack in too much gunpowder. Then you have a grenade. We made a few of those but quit before we got hurt.

My old boss in CA used to put a CO2 cartridge in a pipe and chop the little end off with a hatchet and they would go shooting pretty fast.
David, I had my physical a couple weeks ago. Not so fun at this age.

One reason I did my last colonoscopy was to keep my doctor's finger out of certain areas of my body. Never liked the ol' digital prostrate check. Hernia checks are bad enough.
I guess it is good to get a good bill of health.

Ours too. Given my family history, I would get one either way.

At least I am good for several more year before the butt cam ride again. Since about 45 years old I have had the digital exam. Fortunately my doctor has far smaller hands (IE: normal) than my 6'4" 300# 10% body fat chiropractor.

![]() My internist made a point of checking. I don't know if it is part of the actual colonoscopy or if he did it while I was out. I just got a dose the the Rock Star killer juice, and was in happy land, and woke up in recovery and he said "everything came out OK" and to be sure to fart as much as possible to get the gas out of me, and he did not put any time limit on that. So I am under doctors orders to let em rip.
