Morning all.

Evidently Godzilla or a pack of wolves came through our back yard last night at 1:30 or so. At least according to the barking from our male dachshund. I looked around in the daylight and the extraterrestrials came through and repaired any damage or evidence of the visit. Maybe it was ET in the back yard!

Whatever it was, he went on full alert, and had a different bark, like the warning warning monster in the yard bark. Not the typical yapping he will do at a leaf or someone with the audacity to walk their dog on the sidewalk on the other side of the street. Those are usually about 5 seconds long because he knows he will get in trouble if he barks much.

Last night was constant, and full alert. I will look through the surveillance footage on the security system and see if by chance someone or something was really out there. It was the type of bark he had for the right angle snake we had last summer.

He did not like whatever it was back there. We had to close the doggie door and lock him in.

We gots an opossum that causes the proximity warning to sound.

Kinda surprised the owl don't nab it.

So all that work to do and the year is almost over. It still blow me away that it will be 2020 in a few days. I am old enough to remember when 2001: A Space Odyssey came out in 1968. That was before Apollo 11. 2001 was so far away, and I did the math and discovered I was going to be OLD by then, in my late 40s!

When they showed a color video phone call that was cool. We all were looking forward to the day we could make a video call. Now of course we can do it with our cell phones from almost anyplace, and I have only done a handful of video calls.

My iPhone was pure science fiction in 1968, and so was the computer I am typing this on. I likely have more computing power in this one box at my house than the entire planet had in 1968.

We are old. If this is science fiction think what my kids will play with when they are my age.

Yea, the technology keeps advancing. I wonder how long it will be until there is a true brain to computer interface. Imagine a device you can stick on the side of your head, and it will instantly teach you to be a top expert in what you need to do. Instant pilot, gourmet cook, mechanic, surgeon, or whatever. Everyone is a total expert on everything. Or at least those can can afford the tech.

It will require some power source way beyond our current technology to build a practical flying car. And a lot of new materials and AI and sensors as yet to be invented.

Our airplane is 15 years old, costs more than a house, and requires a long runway to take off and land, and can burn $200 in gas in a few hours, and we spend 400 bucks per month to store it in a hangar. And the required maintenance by a certified mechanic makes Porsche and Ferrari mechanics seem cheap.

I sure don't want to have to buy insurance coverage for my house for all the flying cars driven by folks that can't drive a car around town without crashing on a regular basis.

I looked on the DVR surveillance footage. Nothing but dog one going outside at 1:31 AM, a second little dog going to back up the other at 1:32 and a wife going out to break up the fun at 1:33.

I can only speculate it was a cat, possum, or some other critter that was terrified by the activity and left.

Actually, I have it. I thought I mentioned it before. I was going to bring it back but ran out of time. Sorry.

In 1977 the FAA claimed there were more registered private planes than recreational boats.

Can't help but think so called flying cars would have to be somewhat autonomous to keep from bashing into each other on a regular basis. Kinda like the futuristic car in "Sleeper" with Woody Allen. It doesn't even have windows you can see out of. Guess the orgasm machine makes up for it?

There are lots of airplanes. Alaska has the most for obvious reasons. Even the cheapest aircraft are expensive to operate, and require a much higher intelligence.

Ha ha ha, The FAA showed us a movie stating the numbers. The movie started showing mountains and said "Alaska, The final Frontier."

traffic very heavy around here with Hwy 5 closed. Added to it was this local news report this morning:

Semitrailer Carrying Chickens Overturns on Highway 166:

Due to the emergency equipment at the scene on the narrow road, the incident affected Highway 166 traffic for a time, but the roadway was open as of 6:30 a.m.

A temporary fence was installed to keep the chickens contained on the shoulder and stop them from crossing the road.

It was not immediately clear whether any chickens were injured in the incident.

Something like the Blackfly but with actual range is what would be needed to keep Darwin at bay.

Also, the dash is getting closer to back in the car.

That traffic sounds fowl. All beaks and buttholes.

Brent, where does the Nagivation-Backup camera & iPhone central command center and entertainment display fit? I bet it is right next to the AC vents and the automatic power roof switches. There is still space for the tire pressure monitoring system and all the airbags. I bet there is a huge sub woofer in the back seat, next to the 2,000 watt stereo system right!

There is always room for all of that stuff in the back seat, next to the fritzler bearings.

Nice looking dash.

I have so much room under the back seat I was thinking of TWO 2000w 18" subwoofers (that would probably double the weight of the car). I don't use iPhones but the entertainment center is in the passenger seat when I push the throttle down.

You are correct about the rest of the stuff, A/C vents, power roof and all that. They are all together, but at the parts warehouse and not in the car!

I thought about carrying a battery powered tire pump as there is no room for the front or rear tires in the trunk. A plug kit and pump would take care of most issues. I can fit a space saver in the trunk and put the actual wheel in the passenger seat if I were alone.
