Was just told to leave that stuff alone as a kid.
Did have my own projectile launching arms so never even thought of getting into the adult devices. Had a Daniel Boone style flint lock muzzle loading rifle than fired cork balls using caps. And the Red Ryder BB rifle. We had cats and there were always Tom cats hanging around from the neighborhood. I was allowed to shoot them in the but with either the Flint rifle or Red Ryder to run them off. The Red Ryder was so weak you could see the BB travel when you fired it. And the Flint rifle, well, it shot cork balls. Got to where you could just raise or lower the red ryder causing the bbs to roll the length of the gun (bb's were loaded into a tube that ran the lenght of the barrell) and the cats would scatter from the sound.

Good over the hump day.
We are having Montery, CA weather. Clear skies, 50 degree morning and a high of 72. I can handle that! ![]() With luck my DME will be back here today and I can have my 911 back on the road this weekend.

Thanks fint!
Heavy rains here today. Guess I'm not going to be mowing until the weekend.

For the Master Gardner classes my wife is taking part of the qualifications is some volunteer time. She had to drive to the other side of the metro to a school to help with a presentation to some school kids about where food comes from. The instructor had bought some beans and had the dry beans and some that had soaked in water for a few hours and some that had soaked long enough to start to sprout. Most of the kids did not want to touch them because they were "funny looking" and slimy looking.
I am happy to report that a shovel does indeed really and truly fit in my wife's hands. I was really shocked. She helped plant some plants and dig up some old weeds. So far on all the tests she has been scoring 100. It is mostly just a lot of reading and knowing where a reference is located to look that up. I set her up with an app so she could get the PDFs from school onto her iPad. It was over 7 gig of PDFs. Lots of reading.

You never know when you might need to have something hauled.
We have the single hand spoon safe by the bed but the oldest can get into it if she needs to. We also have a decorative cabinet but it won't take anything with a scope so the Pedersoli and such can go in there. I doubt any kids would know how to load and fire that or a muzzle loader anyway. I need to talk to Targa Dave about how to best refinish a couple of the old things so they can go out on display. While I find a SxS muzzle loading shotgun interesting, I have no desire to put the work into loading it to shoot the dirt birds.

Be careful refinishing a gun. It is my understanding it is easy to kill some of the value by re-rinishing them.
Grew up with a 22 single shot that my brothers grew up with. By the time I got it was beat to heck. Re-blued and refinished the stock myself, and did it proper so it still showed age and wear, but none of the abuse. It looked aged and used but not abused. Did such a good job my older brother claimed and took it for his grandkids to grow up with. Tried to tell them it looked so good because he took care of it when he had it...BS. Don't know where it is now. Had a 22 semi-auto Mountain Eagle that was just as accurate and easier to carry hiking at the time so didn't care. Still have the nickel I threw up in the air and shot a hole in with it when I was 12.

Neither of them are a brand worth much of anything. I would not touch the Pedersoli Or TC.

I'm not much of a collector. I use things and if I'm not using them I sell them.
Think the only I've kept that really jumped in value is the Saxophone I got in HS. Bought it new for $750. It is a sought after model due to the tone and finger positioning. It is now worth $7000. But it is also 40 years old.
