Cinco de Mayo!

You don't have to wear green and the green drink is margaritas.

And, well...TACOS!

Did I get started too early?

Phew.

There is a small spot on the side of my nose that does not hurt. Nothing else. We did 2,200 lbs the first load and 2,100 lbs the second load. The bulldozer just dumps it in and then they weigh the truck again. I shoveled it all out of the pickup. I likely will not be able to move my arms tomorrow. That resembled real work. And no naps at all.

I bet a snide remark to your wife will fix that spot on your nose to match the rest of your body. You know, so you don't limp when you sniff.

Be quieted in the bedeepening gloom that the new garden space did not block the view around a corner or down the street while pulling out. These things take a LOT of planning to do them right.

The new garden is right at the top of the driveway way far from the street.

On today's installment of "Idiot with a garden tractor...."

Got five inches of rain last night. One of the garages is built into a hill and fills with runoff. Tired of this (the garage is always damp and rust out stuff), I went to work to dig out around the garage for better drainage (I've tried those inner concrete moisture seals- worked only for a year or two.)

As usual, I was wary of the home's previous owner, who liked to bury electrical lines mere inches below the ground (my friend with a stump grinder found a "present" - a live wire 1 inch below grade once),

Knowing this- I went out and traced / dug out the 220/110 power line across my planned trench and marked it at WHOPPING 6 inches deep.

On my first pass, I discovered the OTHER 110 line which was buried under pine needles- about 1/2 inches deep! Son of a B@#$ got me again!!!
= HA!!!!!

Fool me twice- shame on me!!

I know the damp feeling. My slab has settled a bit. The only problem area is the end of my garage is now even with the driveway. AND my drive is cracked about 6 foot out from the garage door. the drive now slopes ever so slightly to the garage. When it rains I typically get a wet garage floor about 3 feet into each of the front corners of the garage.

Figure about the only real solution is a new drive sloped properly away from the garage with a little landscaping in that area to keep the water running off instead of into the garage.

Noticed several drives in the neighborhood have been replaced. It's only money, right?

My next door neighbor had some landscaping and a lawn sprinkler system put in. When they did the work the street light between our houses went out. Called the city and they said the line was cut specifically where the landscapers had done work. Landscapers came out and claimed they didn't do it. The lady next door that had the landscaping work done paid to have the line fixed.

Told her I would have had the landscaping company pay for it since they are the ones that messed it up. She said they said they didn't cut the line. Told her to think for a minute. The light worked fine before the landscapers did their work. It stopped working when they did their work. The electric company said the line was CUT where they did work. What part of everything points to them doing it and they are lying does she not understand. AND they should have insurance that pays for stuff like that or they shouldn't be in business!

She also paid to have a mature willow tree removed after a tree trimming company came out and crowned the tree while she was a work. She had got and estimate to have it trimmed but did not okay it. The willow was perfectly healthy with no dead limbs. Told her if it would have been me they would have removed it and put in a new tree free for crowning my willow tree without permission in the middle of August.

She also paid to have all her vents moved to the attic. We have slabs with vents under the slab. She also has an add-on room behind her house. There is a safe in the add-on room that fills with water. They showed her that and how the pelum was all rusted out. You could only see the gravel in the bottom of the plenum. All the houses in this area have gravel bottomed plenums! She had no other problems just had them come out to see if the vent ducts needed cleaning. They cleaned her all right.

She actually makes comments that she doesn't know anything about whatever is being done, and doesn't have a man around to make sure it's done right. Think maybe you can watch them grin and see the dollar signs appear in these guys eyes as they talk to her about what needs done. But hey, all these people come from her church!

I've made it through one of the four worlds!
It had one code in an alien number system to figure out to unlock an area, but wasn't too hard. There is also a railway cart you get to drive around and blow some stuff up with a laser to be able to get around.

This second one is much more difficult to navigate and figure out the secret passageways. It is a lot of rock stairs and ledges kinda like a castle built into rock cliffs. Haven't been able to visualize where things are yet, only which way to go at different forks or platforms.

Them Myst type adverture puzzles are mostly cool rendered worlds you are transported to with puzzles to navigate and solve to get back home. Very rarely do they have aliens to deal with, aliens have usually vacated and you are doing more of an archeological expedition. The puzzle are more about how things operate and finding codes than just a puzzle. In the first world the power for the word is provided by a diesel train engine. You had to trace down the the power lines to the engine, then figure out how to get fuel for it and fire it up. It wasn't until you fired up the diesel did other stuff you needed work including some of the door locks.

Morning all. I am happy to report I am not nearly as sore as I figured I was gonna be. I guess I am just all buff and tough under the extra fat.

I'd be in traction if I moved all of that landscaping material.

Jeff, have fun at Argyle Lake.

Stijn!!

Grand total was 2.25 tons of dirt, um sorry, I mean soil and 3,800 pounds of rocks. Several 40 pound bags of drainage rocks and 12 concrete blocks with rebar for support buried down at the base of the wall for stability. If the earth shifts off axis I guess we will be to blame.

Will do.

Driving out of town on Tuesday.

Yesterday's exercise was removing the middle row bench seat and reinstalling the wardrobe and pantry. Along with gathering all the camping gear out of the shed and checking it over. Also cleaned up the gas stove so that all the burners now work as advertised.

Oh and also cleaned up the tyredogs and gave 'em new batteries. Then played with the new 150lpm Dr Air compressor setting tyre pressures.
