After I first got my 88 951S I took an on ramp at 100 mph for fun. Immediately after the merge was a corner with a cop whom pulled me over. Told me he was there giving warnings to people that were pulling up and stopping instead of merging. Told him I was pretty much doing the opposite of that. He laughed and said he just wanted to let me know the speed limit of the road I am merging onto is as fast as I should be going on the on ramp. I said it sure is easier to merge when going faster than traffic, and I did slow down as soon as I merged. He said That's why I'm not giving you a ticket, just keep it to the speed limit please.

That was the first of my string of getting pulled over driving a Porsche and NOT getting a ticket.

I don't get how people don't understand that logic. I passed a girl in CA on the shoulder because I was merging at speed and she stopped. I got the horn finger and some choice words but there was no way I would have stopped in time.

Just last week I left my office and as I drove down the street a fairly new Corvette was behind me. I was driving my El Camino with stock suspension and it handles just like all mid 1980s Chevy vehicles, boat like. The road in front of my office dead ends at a access road to the local highway.

All I have to do is get to the left lane and there is a "Texas turnaround" which is a single lane inside barriers and it just makes a big U turn and left you merge on the highway. You don't have to go through any lights and you have the right of way all the way to the long on-ramp up the hill to the highway.

That Corvette was right behind me as I entered the access road. I looked behind me as I crested the hill and he was over 1/2 mile behind me. Now remember I was driving a 334,000 mile Elky and I was NOT in any hurry. I was just driving at a reasonable normal speed. That new Vette must have been hypermiling. I would have driven that corner faster than him if there was freezing rain on the ground. Why would anyone buy a new fast car like a Vette and poke around at crazy slow speed.

Maybe he did drive faster and scared the beegeebees out of himself. Now he has reverted to old man style.

My grandmother with just one eye used to drive faster than that dude in her 1966 Impala on Bias Ply tires. And she was a safe driver.

Maybe they were stalking you and didn't want to draw attention to themselves in that fancy (redneck drawl) Cor,vette (/drawl) and it backfired.

Or maybe Glen has an asian old lady that can afford a Corvette cause she owns her own nail salon stalking him?

Stopping at the end of the ra,p is nucking futz, we don't have too much of that around here, thankfully but there is always time for a new trend.
Okay final total was 9 inches of S. I dug out Beth, ran a few errands then went into town to dig out my mother in law. My old a55 is tired.
When I was a kid there was no way a 50 year old man would be using a snow shovel, all the neighborhood kids dug out the older folk, too bad that idea is lost forever

I understand. looks like all the kids in my neighborhood and family willing to push a lawn mower have all gone off to college and are too good for it now. Their younger siblings "don't do manual labor."

Glad my foot is better enough I can start walking behind the mower again.

Kids today show how lazy they are when they get under the gun. I love when some eighteen year old gets hired and after about the third day they are dead, legs hurt, hands hurt, back hurts and I just laugh at them, and dare them to call me old.
One of the Indy shops I worked at the owner came to me and said his nephew was going to be going off to the army in a few months and he was going to be working with us until then, would I be willing to kind of take him under my wing and show him the ropes and learn him something, of course I was all about this, I could teach him and pass off the BS jobs to him. Well day one he was always sitting down and I was always on him about it. Day two I told him he can sit when I sit. (I only sit to drive or eat lunch) Day three the kid went and asked his uncle if he could go work with John, that was a huge mistake, John was former Army with two tours in the litter box. The kid didn't even last a week, he went to find something easy to do until he went off to boot camp. I never did find out how he did but I don't think he handled it well

Two of my brothers were Marines. The Marine recruiter for OKC lived across the street from us. The older one came home from Viet Nam as the younger one was leaving for his tour. When the older brother was home on leave he would teach my other brother combat and told him what to expect. When the older brother found himself being held up over the head of his younger brother he decided lessons over. Younger brother physically trained specifically for boot camp but also knew to not stick out and be made an example.

Would have done a stint if they still had the GI bill, ie paid for my college. I aced the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery and got called by all services recruiters for a year, especially the Navy. Told every one of them I would sign up if they paid for my college.

You guys complaining about the ramps remind me of my rant on metered ramps that we have out here! Most of the time they are normal ramps, but during rush hours they have traffic lights that regulate the flow on the highway. The ramp is two lanes at the light, when the light on your side comes on 1 car goes, it waits a second and then the light for the other side goes, thus spacing out traffic onto the freeway. 3 freaking times in the last month I've had someone go on the other side just as I was starting to go, thus stealing my green! Bastards!

Morning Y'all,
Well after my unscheduled day off yesterday today is back to the grind. Since I don't have a meth lab to help pay my bills

What, doesn't everyone have their own meth lab within walking distance?

Morning Rick

We have the meters, too. Some in the DC area, a lot more in SoCal. I have limited experience with them as I am rarely on the road during rush hour(s). I haven't seen the green-stealing bastards yet, but nothing would surprise me.
