Was your car repainted? I found the grommets were gone and the conductors had worn through the insulation shorting to the body. I measured current from the fuse block to locate the faulty conductor

Mine is a manufactured in 65, titled as 66. The original motor is long gone. I’m told it is a 2.7l with 2.4l heads. I’ve not verified that though.

I have a 902 gearbox. I think the improvement is marginal. I have to hunt for 3rd. I often land on 5th. That’s probably is an adjustment problem I need to fiddle with.
