Still haven't gotten around to what is going on funky with the brakes on that Cayenne Turbo. They are okay, but no where near what they should be. You have to absolutely stand on the pedal to get it to lock em up. Shouldn't take that much. I've done the booster and the master cylinder so far...I'm thinking the front caliper cylinders were foobared by the previous owner putting on pads that were too small.
They just told me this morning they had to drill out the oil drain plugs the previous owner had compleletely stripped out the allen bolts. At least he included a set of new plugs.

The A/C in the decades old Durango works OK, but the new car will freeze you out in no time.

Yea, there is no comparison to the Macan. That thing is magic, it has to be. My wife came home and had a hot car that was sitting in the HOT garage. After 20 minutes she tells me we need to go get gas for it. We had not backed all the way out of the garage and the air was cool. By the time we got to the street it was blowing COLD air. Even the seat coolers. I can't even image how it can do that. When my Elky is heat soaked it might take a mile to get lots of cold air. The 911 is about the same. There must be little elves in the dash and seats making cold with magic spells. Maybe unicorns!

Get off my lawn!

The mean boss is gonna kick me out of the nice air conditioned office, and make me mow the bosses yard today. With the 4 rounds of rain that no one is complaining about, mowing has been impossible. So time to go bail hay and flush my sweat pores.
My wife is taking the male dachshund to the vet to have his teeth cleaned. The female's teeth don't need it. So that means no feeding the dogs this morning. They are pretty well convinced I am really stupid today, more so than normal anyway.

Good NOT Monday Morning!
The lawn mower man did my law Friday. Then promptly left for a weeks summer vacation in Colorado. Bro and SIL was supposed to spend the week with them but SIL broke her hip two weeks ago and her Doc told her she could do the car ride or she might get a blood clot. She was also planning to go on a mission trip to Africa with some of her grandkids that she ain't going. Got a guy that emailed me about more info on the GTS. If he makes a decent offer I will let it go.

We don't have the same requirement as you though either on some of that. We have some set as objects to reserve in Exchange and we use Spiceworks for some stuff as well.

Get off my lawn!

Phew, the bosses lawn is mowed. The humidity is stupid% and sweating just makes ya wet. I was just squirting and sucking up water by the bottle full. It is done. The ground was squishy with water. I was covered in mud balls from the edger. I had to put a new blade on my edger. The old one was worn down about 1 1/2 inches. It is now the only old piece of yard equipment I have, purchased in 1989 is still starts on the first pull.

There are some funny stories on the technical site about new 911 owners all excited and getting the engine nice and hot, and pulling the oil tank plug with their 5 quart oil pan under it. Of course it is HOT oil and overflows and runs down the driveway, and looks like the Exon Valdez aftermath. I always lay out newspapers, have my big pan ready, with the little pan ready as well. Open the torrent, and the big pan can't take it fast enough so use the little pan to catch some while the big pan drains down. I always make a mess. But I know it was done right and nothing was over torqued or stripped. It does help a lot having a lift, and an air conditioned garage. As an old geezer I like the comforts.

I suppose you have a powered creeper for getting under there as well?
Our oil catch pan has a large opening with a screen over it to catch the drain plug when you drop it. The bike is the worst to change the oil because it is a dry sump and the tank is under the seat with a check valve. The oil drain is in the bottom of the case where the skid plate is. The truck is easy and you almost don't need a lift or ramps. The Cobra doesn't have room for the catch pan under the oil pan unless you jack it up and there is barely enough room for a floor jack. Don't know on the car as I have yet to change the oil in it since they were free up until the last one. Funnel clouds spotted in Grant county this morning. Woo hoo.

No powered creeper, but my creeper folds in half and becomes a roll around chair. It makes it pretty easy to roll around and do whatever needs work under the car.

There is a typical thread somewhere about the difference between men and women doing an oil change. Of course the woman goes to a lube place and is done in minutes for cheap. The man (all men are incompetent idiots) strips the drain plug and has to run to the store to get another. Then forgets to put it in and dumps more oil on the floor, puts in the plug and had to go to the store for more oil and paper towels, and oil dry, then back to the store for the oil filter. And after a full day and busted knuckles gets it done.
I have done over 100 oil changes on the Elky. Lots on the 911. A ton of them on my 914. I usually adjusted or at least checked the valves on my 914 each time just because it was so easy. There is NOTHING easy about a valve adjustment on a 911, except maybe screwing it up. I have had a oil change place that was almost next door to my old job change the oil on my Elky a few times. I could watch them do it. My only complaint about them was they greased the grease fittings and dumped a lot of excess grease on the ball joints and suspension parts. It is just better to do it myself.

Hey I adjusted the valves on my 914 2.0. It was hopped up and you had to readjust the exhaust valves every 4th or so tank of gas. Only changed the oil a couple of times myself because Dumont's did it so cheap. Heck they did a tuneup with plugs on the 914 for a whole $12.
Was in a hurry and had my parents change the oil at one of the pit stop places. They sent my parents off on a 70mi trip to pick up 2 tons of cheese in a full size GMC Jimmy with zero oil. The oil change before I had put in Slick 50. Went I got home from work and picked up my Jimmy my Dad told me I might want to check the oil it started clattering on the way into town on the way home. I drove 11 miles to class and it started clattering in 10. When I pulled into class the dipstick was bone dry. A girl in class had just picked up a couple of cases of oil at walmart and had them in her car. It took the full 9qts too fill it up which includes the filter. Thought they had killed my truck. But it drove another 2 years without any issues!

Does it count that I took it to a Porsche mechanic and not a lube place?

Count as a manly oil change? Hope so, have not change my oil but once and had to take the oil to a local parts store to have it "reclaimed"
In the olden days used to pour oil places around the yard were we didn't want the grass to grow. Yes initially it looked like it died, but very quickly grew back faster taller and greener than ever. Reminds me of this Jacques Cousteau thing. (Think the parts in Quotes as French) Jacques had done a study of the marine life in and area and they showed that. Then they showed the same area after a big oil spill. "Oh the cruelty of death and destruction of man's pollution." Then Jacques went back to the same reef area 2 years later and it was more alive than it had been before the oil spill. They were "Amazed at the resilience of mother nature."
