Nah, nobody will care. People buy homes that others have been murdered in with no issue. This won't mean a thing.
Maybe, maybe, maybe hhad they left the section that didn't fall down there and rebuilt people might have questioned it. But in the end they would all sell. The DC-10 went back in service and the crashes of the late 70's faded to memeory. The 737 Max is back in service and on one is talking about it. Short memories. By the time the new building is up it will be ancient history and many will barely remeber. |

Thank you for the history lesson.

No you didn't, but you did imply the sales people would conceal what had happened at that site. "I would bet the sales staff for the next condo built there won't say a word about the last condo built there." followed by "Bad juju dude." I simply provided a few examples why no one would care. But, Real estate law does require disclosure of certain know facts if relevant to a piece of real estate that may influence a persons decision to purchase, such as murder or if it is know a meth clinic was approved next door or similar. The fact people died at this location due to the collpase may need to be disclosed. Last edited by drcoastline; 10-27-2021 at 10:45 AM.. |

Not corrosion and not a lack of maintenance?
Ps - don't flame me, this just popped up due to the YT algorithm. I cannot vouch for his bona fides...

Thought some of you guys may be interested in these pics. This is an inground swimming pool being built on my island.
The location of this property is roughly 2,700 feet from the ocean, 2,000 feet from the back bay and approximately six feet above sea level. This swimming pool is being built much in the same manner as the garage of the Condo building. After you dig the hole you rebar it, form it, pump it dry and then pour the concrete. The pump in the pit of this pool has been running for the better part of three weeks trying to dry out the pit so they can shoot the gunite. Every time the get it near dry a storm comes along raises the water table fills the pit back in and they start pumping all over again. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Even with the gross weight of the pool won't the changing water table eventually create a problem?

In this case they should leave a pipe to pump from under the pool, to relieve pressure. Kind of cold to be shooting a pool, that ground is frozen, I don't see any blankets.

If the car that had a person die in it is parted out do the parts need to be disclosed where they came from? You may recall two incidents? 11/11/85 (my birthday) Pelle Lindbergh goalie for the Flyers crashed his 930 and was killed. His car was being stored at my friend's shop. There wasn't much left to salvage, rear bumper rear wheels but if it were parted should that be disclosed? In the 1990's NYC mob boss Paul Castellano was murdered getting out of his Lincoln. His driver was also shot and died in the car. If the Lincoln was cleaned the windshield replaced and the car sold. Should that be disclosed? Are they the same Pelle's car and Castellano's? Do they carry the same stigma? In the case of the condo the entire structure is gone and will be replaced with new. Is that the same as being built on an ancient Indian burial ground? Is that the same as the new house built on the location of the Tate murder or just a tragic incident that has nothing to do with the new structure? It won't so long as the pool maintains the same displacement or greater as the water table it will remain in position and forces will be equal. If the pool maintains less displacement, then the pool becomes buoyant and acts like a boat and will shift and move potentially cracking.

What is more interesting is the gunite pool. Now adays they usually just drop in a glass pool. This is the second one I have seen in the past few years. Last edited by drcoastline; 02-17-2022 at 04:37 AM.. |

A little over 20 years ago, I had a house that was 45 days from finishing and burned down to the foundation. The exterior was finished with a brick front, cabinets installed that day with the trim load in the garage. Even the driveway was poured. We could have salvaged the footers, but would have had to disclose that. We tore the footers out and started from scratch. |

It may also be external, your knowledge that a sewage treatment plant is going to be built across the street or that the school that is across the street has been sold is being torn down and single-family home will be going up. Ironically if you know a pedophile lives next door it is illegal to disclose that. It is better to disclose than not to disclose no matter how insignificant but the "duty" to disclose in some instances is unclear. |
