For most folks it is "I owe I owe, so off to work I go."

Argggghhhh.

Win 7 is frustrating. I fired up the new computer and had to poke on it for 30 or 40 minutes before our local network was visible. I had to reboot and the network is gone. GRRRRRR

Why does Win 7 make it so difficult? I am sure it is my ignorance but why make it hard to set up?

Job security for the geek squad?

I am just too old for this chit and not going to put up with it.

why is it that certain people feel that, because it is at work, normal courtesy and respect doesn't apply?

Now I can start on the fun process of loading a bunch of software onto the new computer. I wonder if I can even get AutoCAD 2001 to load on a 64 bit Win 7 machine? We use AutoCAD as little as possible. On occasion we have a customer that wants a DXF file with the map loaded into place.

make sure you load autocad into the "c:\program files (x86)" directory. it will have a much better chance of running. if it does not, do not immediately despair as there are a few other things to try.

win7 sees my network, no problem. however, it does seem to deal with networking in a similar manner to M$ OS's designed as servers. this can make things a bit tricky. i wish i was there to help you with it.

Yea, I guess.

I have the other computer pretty much built. All I need is the second hard drive.

Good Old Google helped on installing one of the old mapping programs. It is an old program but we have hundreds of old projects set up in it. A customer calls and says "Fly it again" and wham, I drop the new image in place and print. It would take hours to move each project to the new software.

Hippie Nerd.
The difference between a Geek and a Nerd is the Geek does the hardware and a Nerd does the software

GH85Carrera 10-01-2012 04:11 PM

To do my job I have to be a geek & a nerd under your definition. We make all sorts of things work that was never designed to do that.

Rick V 10-01-2012 04:15 PM

Well in that case I'll just stick with Hippie.

Checked the crab pot

Packed it full of fresh bait instead of ¼ full of frozen crap like last time........hopefully I get a huge haul this go around

So pissed at my mom. My lemon grass had not been doing well the last two seasons. I got it hack on its feet and it was growing really well, thick stocks, leaves and very green. Two days ago, my mom gives it a trim. It won't recover until next Summer. So pissed. It was the only thing that survived the squirrels.

Rick V 10-01-2012 04:29 PM

You may need a larger trap.

Sorry Man I just had to

Outback Porsche 10-01-2012 04:30 PM

Morning Gents.

Back to this work BS again :(

My lemongrass is doing well. This weekend, it's going from the pot to the garden bed.

Outback Porsche 10-01-2012 04:35 PM

I'm happy enough with the results that I'm giving the same treatment to one of my cutters now

Rick V 10-02-2012 01:17 AM

Morning Y'all. Okay who needs some rain? I think we are having enough to share. Looks like Peggy is going to be called into action today

GH85Carrera 10-02-2012 05:06 AM

We could use some more rain. We are still several inches below normal.

As long as you are not flooding be happy to have the rain. More than normal is always better than not enough.

Good Morning folks.

Porsche-poor 10-02-2012 06:32 AM

It's been 70+ days for us. Morning all.

70 days of rain or 70 days of no rain?
