Sailing won out yesterday, so no progress on the Z. It's so nice outside, I'm really going to have to suck it up and get myself into the garage.

The 10.0.xx and 192.168.xx ip numbers are not routed publically. They are considered private networks. 10.0 is for companies, 192.168. for consumers. Most all routers you purchase default to 192.168 for home.

Where it matters is for VPN. VPN software tells you computer to rounte all X.X.X.X traffic to a certain public IP. Typically for a business it is 10.0.x.x traffic since home IPs are typically 192.168. Where it really causes problems if your private network and the network you are trying to VPN into are the same subnet. Then the traffic and get really confused. Especially if you end up with devices witht he same IP address.

The new Merki VPN routers are supposed to fix the fact that almost every home router in the world automatically assigns 192.168.x.x
Our public is 10.0.x.x and our enterprise is 192.168.x.x.

Our home network is actually the same 182.168.x.x subnet and we never have any issues with the VPN. We use a Sophos unit and it routes everything properly for us and doesn't really care what the subnet is because the virtual adapter for the VPN is a separate subnet all together. So for us, no worries and we don't care if it is on a public subnet at Starbucks or a home network as long as there is an internet connection.

I was just giving you a hard time back.

This is why I dislike Uber. They make the rule that you can't carry as a driver after a driver saves lives at a mass shooting in Chicago and then this guy could have been dead had he followed the rules.

Hey, TGIF all, except Jim. Hey Jim, are you all excited about the three day weekend coming up?

I will likely be working some on Monday. Making up for taking off on Wednesday to fix the El Camino. I gotta do all the reports to figure out how much tax money I have to send in for my part and my partners part. It makes it very painful to work hard to earn some money and then "get" to pay a huge part of it to our silent partner, Uncle Sam.

Thought the American thing to do on Labor Day weekend was drive around a lot, so it seems, and cook out.

Not only do I get Monday off, but Friday too. Get Friday off for my burpday Saturday, the 8th. The 55th anniversary of my 4th Burpday.
Started getting our Burpday off because they thought people were having too many lunch Burpday parties.
So, having a 3 day weekend, a 3 day work week, then another 3 day weekend.

My problem is when I do work on stuff myself, DIY, it usually ends up costing more than hiring it out.
