When we used to go 4 wheelin on the river downtown and around the bmx track, we always said it was 80% driver. One guy took his ford pinto, and LTD. Said he wouldn't own a car he couldn't 4 wheel in. One guy bent is nissan 4x4 in half between the cab and bed, another bent his el camino enough he could o longer close the hood. Some vehicles just couldn't handle being jumped dukes of hazzard style.

Lots of factors involved with slick condition driving. Open diff, old tires, and bad driving have no chance if it is slick. I remember one of my worst drives home was in the El Camino with the peg leg open differential, cheaper tires of the era 25 years ago, and an ice storm with an 1/2 inch of ice, and then rain on top. Nothing slicker than wet ice. It was a real challenge just to stay upright when walking. It took me many hours just to get home. I had to park in the street, and I put the car in park and turned off the ignition, and the Elky just oozed sideways right up against the curb. I had a hell of time getting up the slope of the yard into the house. I spread salt on the driveway and after a few hours the ice melted enough for us to get into the garage.
I installed a limited slip rear end in the Elky right after that. And the tires of today are way better. Lots more expensive, but way better. Tomorrow is supposed to be high 30s and raining. I am staying home. Right now it is 68 degree, clear skies, and just a slight breeze. Perfect winter weather! I had to run the air conditioner when I was out and about recently.

90 928 5 speed, 51/49 balance, smart PSD locking rear diff and to much low end = power with summer tires in a snow storm. Was able to follow a sand truck most of the way home. Actually got him to stop then he sanded the highway then the snow route to within 1 mile of home. He was a life saver. Gave him some really good chocolate chip cookies my niece had just given me for Christmas.
With my 94 928 GTS couldn't get out of the culdesack turn in front of my house. It was just enough up hill it would just slide over to the curb. And that was with all season tires. Had to clear the ice off my drive to get it back in the garage. That was when I started looking for a cheap Rover!

At my old bachelor pad house I had a very steep hill for a driveway. It leveled out just at the edge of the garage. It was simple impossible to get my 914 up that hill with any ice or snow if I could not get a decent running start at it. I had to turn 90 degrees from the street, then hit a steep incline. With more than a little snow or ice I could not make the turn and did not have any speed for momentum to get up the hill. I was a cheap (read very broke) dude, so I ended up at a boat place, and bought a small manual crank boat winch with enough cable to reach to the end of the driveway.
I could hook the cable to the tow hook on the front of the 914, and crank it right up the hill into my garage. My neighbors would all come to watch me do it. It took 10 minutes of slow cranking. It worked like a charm on a 2,000 pound 914. I would never try it on a bigger car. My El Camino simple would not fit in the garage. I pulled it in to the point the front bumper was touching the back wall, and the rear end stuck out over a foot. The 914 was small enough I had room to jack it up, drop the engine and transmission out, and do a clutch job in the garage space behind the 914. I had to do that by myself, in one weekend as it was my only transportation.

I think the Cobra would have made it out of the drive. Actually, that would have been interesting to watch the exhaust blowing the snow. Might have to try that next snow. David Kirkham flipped a penny on the floor at their shop one day fooling around.

During my oil change last weekend I was inspecting the El Camino tires. The fronts are due for replacements. Down to the wear bars. The rears are in much better shape and are fine.
The BFG tires I use have pretty good traction. Orders of magnitude better than the tires of the 1990s The 911 has the Michelin Pilots, and I was amazed how much traction they have in the wet. One of our autocrosses last year was a misty wet day. No real rain, but the track was totally wet, and I needed my windshield wipers. It was fun to really push hard in wet conditions and see how far the limit was. I could corner way more than I figured was possible. I would never push that hard on the road in the rain. The are summer performance tires, so they would suck big time in ice or snow.

Well the leather strap is missing to lift the rear seat bottom so you can fold the back seats flat. Seems you just have to grab the front bottom edge of the seat and lift. It don't need no strap. Need to fold part of the rear seat to fit my brother's wheelchair in the back. The rear hatch slopes to much and the handles would stick out the rear window.
Also the side amd rear windows are obviously tinted with a film on top of the factory tint. They are way too dark. Getting too old for limo tinting and not being able to see out driving at night. The build ticket says they are tinted a little extra, but I don't think the factory ads film. Guessing need to go to a tinting place to get it removed properly.

Yesterday: 68 degrees, clear skies and really low winds.
Today: 38 degrees and we are up to 1/2 an inch of rain already and expectation is for rain all day. The weatherman was saying if the last few days had not been so warm and nice we could have had a major snow storm. The northwestern part of the state is getting snow now. With a little luck, it will stay liquid all day for us. I have no plans to leave the house today. My commute down the hall was all normal, with no traffic (dogs) in the way. First cup of coffee almost done, ready to finish the pot off with cup number 2. The electronic version of the newspaper is read, Pelican visited. Almost ready to do some work. Maybe by 8:30 I will fire up QuickBooks. Phew.

Sorry, I don't even know what an Iso is, so I will not be much help to you.
I would have to guess it is something to do with AutoCAD or some other easy to learn program. My business partner is helping with the building of the camera system we use. The have the outer shell of the pod 3D printed. So they design the entire shell in Solidworks. It is a super precise program, and they have to be very accurate to get all the components to fit in the pod, and be held tightly in place, and everything align. He has spent several weeks just "playing" with designs to learn the program functions. He has a ginormous "laptop" made by Ailenware. Only Andre the Giant has a lap big enough to fit it. It will get so hot it just shuts down if it is working hard. He wants to build a shroud for the bottom of it to put in a couple of high volume fans that will let it sit on a desk and have enough air to keep running. So just a big manifold. 3D print it, and add in the fans.

Welp, I just registered for Parade. I did not get the room with a garage, that was $404 per night! Yikes. They were sold out already after just 15 minutes after opening of registration. I suspect all the PCA national level folks got those.

I just burned a couple...wait, different ISO.
It is weather here. Might be freezing fog, rain, warm and sunny. Changes every time you look at the forecast. I think they use a weatherman's magic 8 ball.

We are going to break the one day rain fall record for today. We are at 1.30 inches so far. I am just so happy it just runs down the street and into the storm drains and I don't have to shovel it.
I will have to brave the rain and go fetch my trash cans. I hope I don't melt. We will be way above the monthly rain average for Jan as well.

Has a bit of a foreboding tone to it. Unless it is kama sutra or yoga.

Good Morning!
Gosh, didn't mean to scare everybody. My health prognosis is that I got diabetes from a mursa infection and got most diabetes complications like neuropathy and retinopathy and digestive within a year. Had a stroke two years ago and found that only 10% of people with diabetes and complications live longer than 10 years after their first stroke. In the last 6 months had a 2nd mini stroke that effected my balance and then that wreck totallying my Cayenne and gave me lasserations of my kidneys and liver, the only organs that weren't effected by the mursa, and bruised and weakend my core. A walker doesn't even really help because it doesn't keep you from falling over backwards! My core is not getting back up to snuff very quickly at all. Can only get around showly the last 3 weeks. And two of the drugs they put me on the side effects are dizziness. Boy, that sure helps with the stroke balance thing, not. I am not depressed because when they finally found something to stop the mursa infection the infectious diseases doctor told me I was living on borrowed time and to just enjoy every day as it comes. When I got the mursa infection I as already working from home. My boss the VP of IT sent me home to work because he didn't see a need for me to keep an office, and I could take care of my Mom with post stroke dimentia, Alzheimer's without the mood swings. So after the mursa complications have just kept working from home with the only difference is attendings meeting remotely. Wanna buy a 1994 928 GTS, Hagerty lists them with it's mileage and condition for 100K now! Can no longer drive it because it is a 5 speed. Interesting the the valuation has climbed from 50K since I got the mursa infection.

If it is like my old boss at Pro Photo they want to give you a fancy title, a lot more work, and no pay raise. He tried over and over to get me to be the production manager. I soon found out it was simply impossible to manage the production crew, and do all my work in the digital department, and still repair all the processors.
I still remember a few times coming out from under a processor and looking for some extra hands to help me and everyone was up in the kitchen chatting and laughing waiting on me to fix their paper processor. I told them to get off their butts, and grab some cleaning stuff and clean up the work area, and two of them I grabbed to help me put the processor back together. I guess I was too nice of a manager.
