Can someone tell me if Porsche recommended the same geometry set up on the flatnoses as the standard tubo?

Did the factory flatnoses come with standard rear wing, or was it enlarged as per DP? Would the DP flatnoses have a radically different setup (i guess the have a fair bit for downforce at the rear?)

Thanks

I was just reading though this thread and saw the efforts of some of the posters to start and maintain a registry for these Slantnose cars.

Has anyone gone though the process of connecting the M505 / M506 option codes to the VIN numbers of the cars that where originally built by the factory with those options? Did you know that it can be done using the Factory Porsche PET Software? It will take a fair amount of patience because you have to check every 930 VIN number one at a time to see if it has the M505 or M506 option code. In the case of the North American cars, that would mean checking 639 VINs just for the '89 930 Coupes. We went though this process with the M491 / M470 optioned Turbo Look cars in 2010. Of the 2619 Carrera Coupes produced by Porsche for North America in 1986, 76 of them were M491 Turbo Looks. Here is a link to my web page with more information... 1986 Turbo Look Coupes
I have the VIN numbers for all 76 cars and have found 25 of them, so far.

This process would be a good way to see if the numbers in this memo are correct and to find all of the VIN numbers with the M505 / M506 option codes at the same time.

Great work! I would take this on as a part time hobby if you could pass on some more details on how you actually got the VIN info and where you sourced the PET software you used.

That's great work .. however, this will only cover the later cars with the 505/506 option and not the Special Wishes cars. Just say'n & applaud the effort.

Hi,
recently noticed my headlights only flip up about 7/8 of the way. Any way to adjust the linkage?

Restoring a 930 slant (not a real one, but has the factory steel fenders and headlight assembly). Anyone here know where to get the wiring diagram for the concealed headlights? I need the complete wiring looms from the headlights and the headlight motor.

Similar to the wiring diagrams to a 924 or 944, I assume.

Thanks,
Mark

Mark,

Not sure if this is exactly what you need, as I am not an expert on the matter, but I did find the following. Hope it helps.

Is it safe to assume that most aftermarket slant fenders were fiberglass?
Who, besides Porsche, manufactured metal slant fenders?

I wonder why most of the slants look like the front wheel/tire combo is too small for the fender well opening...

Is it geometry or optical?

Great looking cars!

It is not uncommon to have to run 1 size smaller sidewall profile on the front tires, especially if the car is lowered. This contributes to the "too small" look.

Anybody have any info on the headlight, only flip up 7/8 of the way.
There has to be a way to adjust this out.

If its only one light you have to adjust the upper set screw, I had the same issue just mine would go down too far. In my post below I adjusted the lower set screw

Slantnose, Slant nose,Slope, M505 factory 930S documents, registry, ultimate,flachbau

Now if its both, check the stops on the center bar #2 below
